Get Involved in PRSSA

Joining PRSSA gives you access to various membership benefits that will launch your career, broaden your professional network and enhance your education. Getting an education means more than earning a degree. Employers are looking for experience, achievements, and practical knowledge of the profession, all of which PRSSA can help you obtain.

As long as you are a full-time or part-time student of MSU, you are eligible to join MSU's PRSSA chapter. Joining PRSSA is a great opportunity to get involved at Mississippi State.

Leadership Opportunities

PRSSA-MSU strives to provide all of our members with the professional development, networking, experience, and support needed to graduate feeling completely competent in Public Relations and related fields. Two leadership opportunities that PRSSA-MSU provides are being a part of the Executive Board team (year-long commitment) or becoming a Committee Member (semester-long commitment).

Executive Board

Leading a PRSSA chapter by serving as an Executive Board member teaches essential leadership skills, project management, campaign and event execution, and teamwork. These skills translate well in the professional setting and help enhance the membership experience.

The Executive Board application process occurs once a year; typically, in March-April. Executive Board positions are year-long appointments. Positions are appointed and begin at the end of the spring semester. Follow us on social media to be the first to know when Executive Board applications are live.

Committee Members work with the Executive Board team to assist in the various initiatives throughout the semester. The committees offer members the opportunity to improve their communication skills, add to their resumes and portfolios, make connections, and improve our chapter for future students. Committees include recruitment, social media, fundraising, and programming.

The Committee Member application process occurs once a semester; typically, in the first month of the fall/spring term. Committee positions are semester-long appointments. Positions are announced and begin the semester appointed. Follow us on social media to be the first to know when Committee Member applications are live.
